This two-story market hall at the foot of the Liberty Bridge is the mother of all Budapest market halls; it is the most popular, most central but also the most commercial. Despite this it still somehow manages to keel its prices reasonable and its atmosphere authentic. Here you will find all that is Hungarian, from the famous goose liver pate, through locally grown veggies, all the way to mouth-watering spicy sausages. It is also here that you will find the widest range of souvenirs in town: everything from the cheesy and very cliché I Love Budapest T-shirts to more sophisticated ones like hand-made embroideries.
