Mercado de San Fernando

Address:

9 de Julio 10
Buenos Aires, Argentina

Description:

Many visitors to Buenos Aires will make the trek up to Tigre, the river delta town an hour north of BA proper, to enjoy lazy river life for an afternoon or a few days. One option when traveling from Buenos Aires' Retiro train station is to hop off the regular commuter rail in the town of Vicente Lopez, just north of BA's city limits, and transfer to the Tren de la Costa, a tourist rail that takes a more scenic route to Tigre, along the banks of the Rio de la Plata. The train stops in several small towns along the way, and treasure hunters may want to take the time to hop off at San Fernando, just before reaching Tigre, to explore both the antiques stalls set up along the train tracks, as well as the new Mercado de Productores Sabe la Tierra organic and health products market.
