The Art Gallery of Calgary is the largest public, contemporary art gallery in the city. It does not sell art, nor does it collect. It simply presents exhibits and holds educational programs for public engagement. The AGC has over 6,000 square feet of gallery space, holding works by leading local and international artists. There are displays of all sorts of artistic media, such as photography, painting, and sculpture. While it might not have the size or reputation of the galleries in Vancouver or Toronto, the Art Gallery of Calgary holds its own among art galleries in Canada, and it makes a great addition to the Stephen Avenue walkway.
