Deep in Calgary's SE, Sikome Lake is a man-made lake, designed as a recreation spot for the public. This lake is not very deep, but it's a good size with sandy beaches the go all the way around the water. There is a small concession stand that sells drinks and snacks, but it is not always open. The area is fenced off, but the gates are open most days during the summer from 10am to 8pm. There are playgrounds nearby for children. Beach volleyball nets are set up, as well. Visitors can bring BBQs with them, but they can only be used in certain areas and must be attended at all times.
