Pescaditos

NileGuide Expert Says:

The best pescaditos and pescadillas in town! Stop by and have an order of pescaditos or pescadillas (either option is around $3 USD and will fill you up) with an ice-cold beer, and you'll be hooked. The garlic mayonaisse makes the already yummy food even better.

Description:

This small, unassuming place is constantly full of locals looking for good food at bargain prices. Lately, more and more tourists have being giving Pescaditos a try...and loving it! All of the food is made fresh and it's delicious.

The most popular items on the menu are also some of the cheapest...pescaditos (battered & deep-fried fish) are only $33 Pesos per order, and pescadillas (deep-fried tacos that are filled with fish and other seafood) are $35 Pesos. They may not be the healthiest choices on the menu but, after having a bite of the fish with a little of the homemade garlic mayonaisse, you won't care. It's THAT good.

If you prefer something a bit healthier, the ceviche is wonderful and the portions are large. The shrimp cocktail and salads are other healthy options.

Located on Yaxchilan Avenue, a busy street in the heart of downtown Cancun, Pescaditos is easy to find. It's a popular place so, during busy times of day, you might have to wait for a table.

There is live music on most days and, in addition to having great food, it's a fun place to hang out and have a few beers. The house specialties are Cheladas (beer with salt & lime) and Micheladas (beer with salt, lime, Tabasco sauce, & Worchestershire sauce).  It's a laid-back place with an "island" vibe and you'll usually hear Reggae music playing, unless there is a live band.
