Atlantic Seaboard

If model viewing and cocktail sipping are on the itinerary, the Atlantic Seaboard is the place to be. This prime area is located along the dramatic cliffs of Table Mountain with beautiful views of sunsets over the Atlantic.  Stretching from Fresnaye south to Hout Bay and the Chapman's Peak Drive, the Atlantic Seaboard offers exquisite scenery, good restaurants and bars, and a range of beaches to suit every taste.  Clifton 2nd beach is renowned to be windless on the most blustery Cape Town day, Camps Bay is one of the most popular all-around beaches close to the City Bowl, and Llandudno beach is a locals favorite for surfing and scenery.  Before any visitor goes diving into the sea at any of these beaches, it pays to keep in mind that the Atlantic here is cold!

Other than the scenery, the Atlantic Seaboard has several popular venues for locals and tourists alike.  Tucked away above Clifton, the Roundhouse Restaurant offers fine dining in a secluded spot.  Cruise along Camps Bay Main Road to find any number of bars, cafes, and the best ice cream in Cape Town at Sinnfull.  Just behind the main road, one of the best spots for fresh seafood is the Codfather.  If you're on a tour of the peninsula and heading for Chapman's Peak Drive, pop into Deli Delish or Chapman's Peak Wine and Spirits for some picnic supplies.
