Day 1 - Carmel, Monterey

Point Lobos has been called "the greatest meeting of land and sea in the world" and I can understand why. A perfect day calls for wandering the entire perimeter of the park followed up with a perfect chicken piccata at Joe Rombi's and a surprisingly affordable room in Carmel.

Day 2 - Monterey, Carmel

Pinnacles is an otherworldly volcanic landscape that was split in two -- the other half of the basaltic towers are 350 miles to the south on the other side of the San Andreas Fault.

Day 3 - Monterey

The aquarium may be touristy but it's still got some amazing stuff --- check out the jellyfish and the kelp forest.
