Description:

The Tony-award winning Utah Shakespearean Festival is held in the late summer continues until early fall in Cedar City, home of Southern Utah University. Cedar City is located 250 miles south of Salt Lake City, and is host to one of the top-drawing Shakespearean festivals in the US. Each year, a variety of Shakespeare and other plays are performed at various venues at Southern Utah University including the Adams Shakespearean Theatre named after the festival's founder Fred C. Adams and one of the most authentic Elizabethan theatres in the world. Evenings of Shakespeare are best appreciated after spending the day outdoors at one of the several nearby attractions including Bryce Canyon National Park. Be sure to get there in time to watch The Greenshow, the fun and free pre-show entertainment that is performed on the green and courtyard surrounding the Adams Theatre.
