Description:

There is no need to brush the sand from your feet when you enter La Playita, a laid-back Celestún restaurant right on the beach, or even wear shoes for that matter. Gulf of Mexico breezes cool the colorful, well-appointed, thatch-roofed building. La Playita offers seafood fresh from the ocean.. If you are dining with a group, choose the mariscada, a shared feast of ceviche, shrimp, conch and blue crab, priced temptingly at MX$350/US$35. Other options on the restaurant menu are the seasonal offerings: crab cakes, calamari rings, and a real find – lobster carpaccio. La Playita is just down the beach from Parador de la Playa, so stop here for lunch after touring the Ria Celestún Biosphere Reserve, a top Yucatan destination. Parents will enjoy bringing their kids here: the adults can loll in seaside lounge chairs sipping margaritas while keeping an eye on the children playing in the gentle surf.
