North Charleston
Head down I-26 a few miles and you'll come to the next most populated area of the city, North Charleston. Although it's away from the beach, North Charleston provides the same great low-country experience and feel that you get from being in downtown. On a rainy day, Charleston's largest mall, the Northwoods Mall, is ideal for an afternoon of shopping with over 100 department stores and small shops. The neighborhood has many popular restaurants, too, including the North Towne Grill and Seafood - which features all of the American favorites - as well as some of Charleston's signature dishes.
