Østerbro Restaurants in Copenhagen
Despite its reputation as little more than a quiet if elegant residential suburb, Østerbro has developed into an exceptional quarter to dine out-particularly if you're looking for a reasonably-priced French restaurant with plenty of romantic ambience; around half of Copenhagen's French restaurants can be found in the district, along with a good number of other exciting eateries as well as numerous smart cafes.
Two of the city's best restaurants are located at the far end of Østerbro. Paustian is no longer run by star chef Bo Bech, but its traditional Danish kitchen offers great home-style cooking to gourmet standard.
The fantastic views offered on the eighth-floor locale of Geranium are just one of the reasons to check out this expensive restaurant: The other is the now legendary status of head cook Rasmus Kofoed, crowned world's best chef at 2011's Bocuse d'Or.
Aamanns started out as a smørrebrød shop but soon developed into much more; its restaurant is located next door and offers Scandinavian dishes prepared seasonally.
