Halifax Burger Restaurant and Bar first opened a number of years ago on Frederiksborggade in downtown Copenhagen, close to Nørreport Station: Its "build your own burger" concept proved so popular that the local chain was able to open two new franchises, one on Larsbjørnstræde in the city's Latin quarter and. more recently, on Falkoner Plads in Frederiksberg. The concept is broken down into four simple steps: First, choose the type of burger you want - ranging from the classic 'København' burger to the more outlandish 'Liverpool' (fried egg, bacon, tomato and HP sauce), or 'Zurich' (comes with a hash brown and mushrooms). Second, choose the type of 'meat': beef, chicken or - for the vegetarians - celeriac or falafel burger. Third, choose from a side dish of fries, mash, tortilla chips or salad (included in the price) and - finally: choose from a range of homemade dips. Prices are fairly reasonable, from DKK 110 to DKK 125, making this a great place to take curious teenagers wanting to outdo each other in outlandish burger construction.
