Description:

Part of the local Cofoco chain of low-priced gourmet restaurants, Public House is a London-styled gastro-pub housed in the same building as the Hotel Kong Frederik, where Brasserie Le Coq Rouge used to be. With dark wooden panelling and a distinctly British menu that should have public-schooled ex-pats drooling (pea soup, beef wellington and even sticky toffee pudding for dessert!) Public House offers three-course pub lunches prepared to gourmet standards, washed down with something from the extensive wine menu - or a pint of beer for those more inclined to the dark stuff. Prices are surprisingly reasonable: a lunch including dessert and a draft beer goes for around DKK 150 (fish and chips with peas followed by bread and butter pudding) while the four-course evening 'Public Menu' (minimum order of 2 people) will cost you DKK 295 a head. A perfect choice for a slightly homesick British businessman.
