In a former life Augustines used to be situated in Washington Street. The small bistro even then enjoyed a good reputation with loyal customers. Now you will find it in the chic location of the Clarion Hotel on Lapps Quay. The decor is formal with crisp white linen table clothes cosy red upholstered booths and subtle lighting giving it a chic modern feel. Ingredients are sourced from local suppliers and the menu changes according to the daily produce available at the market. On the A la Carte menu you will find local delicacies such as Clonakilty black pudding, artisan beef and when in season pheasant. It manages to retain a relaxing atmosphere even though it is a landmark hotel restaurant. The focus is definitely on the customer with well trained staff providing friendly service. This price is to be expected this top dining institution but well worth the splurge.
