NileGuide Expert tip:
When you make tour reservations or arrangements through the Tree House Lodge, you contribute with the Green Iguana Foundation, dedicated to the preservation of the Green Iguana, and you get a free Iguana Conservation Tour, given every week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The Tree House Lodge is located on 10 acres in the famous Punta Uva beach, just south of Puerto Viejo. Each house is it's own private sanctuary with beach access, and each one has a distinct style: The Tree House, The Beach House, The Garden House, and the Beach Suite, each can sleep up to 5 people, but two will feel right at home. The town of Puerto Viejo is a few miles north, so it feels, and is, very remote. This eco-lodge has received much good publicity and recognition, as a visit to their website reflects. It won't be long before their waiting list is long, but these days, a cool house can still be booked for spring or summer get-aways. Rates from $250 per night for two.
