Up in the cloudforest of Monteverde, the owners El Sapo Dorado have opened another place, La Gaurida el Sapo, closer to the main road, but the original El Sapo Dorado continues to offer great food and views from its perch atop a hillside. The menu is full of dishes made with fresh local ingredients, and nightly specials are always good. The tables with the best views of the sunset are against the big windows, and the outdoor terrace is nice too, as long as it's not raining too hard. Don't forget to save room for one of the decadent desserts.
