Description:
Big Papa's is a newcomer to the Denver barbecue scene, having been founded in the long-ago days of 2004. Nevertheless, it proved popular enough that within a few years another Big Papa's popped up in nearby Littleton. The menu has pretty much everything that you'd expect from a barbecue place and nothing you don't – that is, as long as you remember where you are and that bison is rather commonplace in Colorado. The main downside to Big Papa's is you get the feel that the owners are more interested in "growing the brand" than refining their sauces. In fact, their website focuses more on their past business acumen than culinary talents. Nevertheless, Big Papa's manages to turn out some altogether solid barbecue.
