This four-star country inn dates from 1660 and offers out-of-town luxury in all of its 22 rooms, including great sea views over the Øresund. Located on the coastal road north of Copenhagen and just 50 meters from the sea, it is popular with boating types and also has a smart, Michelin-listed restaurant worth a visit on its own. The grand, old-fashioned charm of Skovshoved hasn't gone unnoticed internationally: Upmarket travel and lifestyle magazines Conde Nast and International Living have both commended the hotel for its style and elegance. Prices are in the expensive range, but remain fairly reasonable, at DKK 1500 for a double room.
