Description:

Part of the famous Edinburgh restaurant, the overnight accommodations in the Witchery offer romantic, sumptuous, theatrically decorated rooms with Gothic antiques and elaborate tapestries, wall to wall decadence and and roll-top baths big enough for two! Each lavishly decorated suite (the Library, Vestry, Inner Sanctum, Old Rectory, Sempill, Guardroom or Armoury) has its own individual character, for example an oak four-poster bed in a red-velvet-lined bedroom. Celebrity guests have included Andrew Lloyd Webber, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, Simpsons cartoon creator Matt Groening, Danni Minogue and Jack Nicholson.

Rates including continental breakfast, vat, newspapers and a complimentary bottle of Champagne from £325 per suite per night. These rooms are frequently booked months in advance.

Angus beef and lobster are the hallmark items of the hotel's famous restaurant menu, which boasts a comprehensive (and pricey) vintage wine list. A three course meal without wine typically will cost less than 50 British pounds.

Summer allows for idyllic al fresco dining in the downstairs Secret Garden. The food has won many coveted awards and deservingly so. To enjoy the Witchery experience for a knock-down price, ask for the light lunch or theatre supper menu.
