Tips and reviews

Here's what Trippy members say about Stirling Castle:

"Hi Ben! London and Scotland are awesome! I hope it is warm and sunny for you in May. Your ideas are a great start. The Circle Line pub challenge is an interesting one. There are also organised pub crawls through Shoreditch and another through Camden Town. Have you heard of the Monopoly pub crawl? I would also add a day at the Tower Of London and perhaps the The Jack the Ripper Tour walking tour - these tours will give you a great overview of the history of London and East London. Check out Borough Market during the day for good food. And if you want to go anywhere for a great view, try cocktails at Aqua Shard in The Shard (above London Bridge Station), or cocktails at Sushisamba in the Heron Tower (across from Liverpool Street Station). I've got plenty more ideas here (including day trips and restaurants to check out):"  See More

"We drove to the beach and golf courses at St Andrews, to Stirling Castle, to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle near Inverness in the north and went on a brilliant horse ride in Kenmore (Scotland)."  See More

"Stirling Castle, about 22 miles from Linlithgow, is where Mary was crowned Queen of Scots."  See More

"Further north, as a side-trip from Edinburgh, Stirling Castle is far less touristy."  See More

"Other than that, my personal favorites were Stirling Castle, I could have spent most of the day there and then stop at Linlithgow Palace on the way back, you can use the same train ticket as long as you are heading in the same direction."  See More

"On your way back into Edinburgh you can stop off at Stirling Castle, very well preserved or we really enjoyed the area around The Falkirk Wheel-if you like canal areas and feats of engineering."  See More

"Stirling Castle is about hour from Edinburgh."  See More
