Day 1 - Edinburgh

Rise early and take the train into the centre to visit the castle. Its always best to get there in the morning to set aside the time for the queues. It is the most popular attraction and a must for a first visit. At lunch time walk down the Royal Mile to Wee Windaes Restaurant, famous for traditional Scottish food. Afterwards move onward to the National Gallery of Scotland to while away the afternoon taking in the exhibits. Buy your ticket for the last Mercat Tour of the evening for guaranteed chills leading around the old closes and graveyards these are timed to finish at Waverely Station and for the last trains leaving that night.
