Description:

A summer in Flagstaff is not complete without a pleasant bike ride through the trees to see a headlining band at Pine Mountain Amphitheater. The Amphitheater, which hosts popular acts such as Ani DiFranco, Social Distortion, Yonder Mountain String Band, and Michael Franti & Spearhead, is located at Fort Tuthill near the fair grounds. An easy, mostly flat, urban trail will take you from Northern Arizona University's campus directly to the show. From down town, head south on San Francisco through campus. When you pass the ROTC building and begin going down a big hill, look for access to the trail on your right before you get to the bottom of the hill. The trail goes across the south side of campus, breaking once to get through the intersection at Beulah, where the trail can be picked up again right before the turn off to Walmart. Go South on this trail behind the parking lot and continue on until you reach the fair grounds. If the show lets out in the evening, be sure to bring a light. It gets very dark out there!
