Stazione Leopolda

NileGuide Expert Says:

Each new event make the old station look like something completely different.

Address:

viale Fratelli Rosselli 5
50144 Florence, Italy

Description:

The Stazione Leopolda was the first train station built in Florence back in 1861. It remained a train station through World War II when it was used as a shipping depot for war supplies, until it was bombed in May 1944. The building was used for storage for Trenitalia throughout the years until it was remodeled and refurbished into what it is today: a multi-use entertainment facility that hosts concerts, exhibits, conferences and festivals.  Bascially now, an empty warehouse, each event transforms it into something extraordinary than the last exhibit.
