Great little roadside cafe, where the average prices are about $7 for a giant meal.
You'll find your basic bacon, eggs and homefries or potatoes, all cooked perfectly, and particularly delicious. Homemade biscuits are fresh and good, a bit heavier than you may make at home, but hits the spot. For your second trip back (you know you'll need to return), try the eggs benedict, seafood benedict (of many varieties) and the country fried steak. All are outstanding.
Other notables: creamed chipped beef (lovingly referred to as SOS by the waitresses),
The Cafe is known for its huge portions, reasonable prices and friendly, efficient service. Certainly there are plenty of other in-resort expensive breakfast eateries in the Keys but Big Pine Key is a little like going to the country. Folks here approach life at a slower pace, and expect visitors will give themselves a chance to unwind and just enjoy a home cooked meal without busting the traveling budget.
The Cafe is small, and the parking lot is always full. A good sign, by the way, for ANY restaurant! Small parties of up to four people at a time are best.
