Talk about egalitarian. You can find executives sitting at a table next to tourists in T-shirts and shorts, musicians, truck drivers in jeans, a group of housewives taking a day off, as well as people from nearly every other economic or social group having breakfast or lunch at the popular, rustic, Farmers Market Restaurant in Fort Myers. The food reminds one of the meals Grandmother or Aunt Sally cooked when they lived down on the farm when you were young; meatloaf, chicken legs, chicken livers, macaroni and cheese, a vegetable plate, homemade soup, collard greens, fish, pork chops -- you name it. The neighborhood isn't where you'd expect to find a restaurant. The location seems more suitable for Joe's used car parts, and the exterior of the building leaves one wondering what's really inside. But if you haven't had chicken livers and gizzards for awhile this could be a treat.
