Trongate and East End

Trongate is one of the oldest streets in the Merchant City of Glasgow Scotland and the area is commonly referred to as "Old Glasgow". Trongate provides the main path into the city centre from the east end. Trongate runs from Glasgow Cross in the medieval city to Argyll street in the west. Trongate's most famous landmarks are the Tron Theatre ( Originally a church built in the 17th century) and Tron 103. This region in Glasgow has experienced the opening of new trendy bars, restaurants and the Victorian style buildings have been transformed into expensive apartments. The oldest green space in the city , Glasgow Green and the People's Palace and Winter gardens and the infamous Barras market can also be found just off Trongate. However despite the renaissance there remains several abandoned buildings in this area, which holds anticipation for residents  as to what will be created next!
