Hilo Bay Cafe is a wonderful, gourmet hidden treat stashed between Office Max and Ross Stores in Hilo. The cafe is modern, upscale, and perhaps the most city like and unique eatery in town.The restaurant offers a unique blend of of Pacific Rim inspired dishes, gourmet comfort food, and vegetarian and meat dishes. You'll also find top of the line mixed drinks and great beers and wine. You can go in here casual, or dress up a bit and not feel out of place.
The menu varies between lunch and dinner, and includes dishes such as ahi poke, Guinness onion rings, vegetarian sweet potato flax burger, a local mushroom pot pie, and slow roasted barbecue ribs. For dinner you'll have options like balsamic roasted beets, free range beef short ribs, and roasted pork tenderloin.
By far the most romantic spot in Hilo, but perfect for families too.
