Description:
Despite its inherent greatness, there are times when even Saigon's biggest fans crave a window away from Vietnam. And it is in these fraught moments when venues like Au Parc come into their own. Fusing French café culture with Arabic touches, the ambiance is buzzy but relaxing at the same time. The downstairs area has outdoor seating and a well-stocked deli bar, upstairs is spacious and moodily lit while an annex between the two floors features sofas and a strangely fetching bright yellow color scheme. Meanwhile, a classy soundtrack of jazz and soul adds to the venue's overall aura of sophistication. Even if the food was so-so, Au Parc would still make a great place of refuge. Thankfully, this isn't the case. The downstairs deli provides the grist for a great selection of sandwiches and paninis, while more substantial offerings such as the mezze platter and lamb kebabs offer ample Middle Eastern promise in the thick of the tropics.
