The winemaker Lisa McGuigan, fourth generation of one of the Hunter Valley's most famous winemaking families, has pioneered for Tempus Two – and Roche Wines, also represented here – modern, innovative winemaking of award-winning ultra-premium brands. The wines are reason enough to make the trip, but driving up to the slightly elevated amphitheater and its modern, low, extended building, you begin to expect something extraordinary – and you are not deceived. Everything here is top-tier: the elegant cellar door, the (misspelled) Belisima coffee lounge, and the classy and innovative Oishi Thai/Japanese restaurant.
