Description:

Bruneau Dunes State Park offers the fun of camping, boating, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing and more. The biggest attraction in the park is a 470 foot sand dune, created by the unique way the winds blow across the desert at this exact location. So, while the dune is always changing, it is always there. Visitors like to hike up the dune, sled down the dune, pretend they're in the Sahara, or try to build sand castles.

Also unique about the area is its dark sky status. Dark skies are areas where city lights do not dim the view of the night sky. Bruneau Dunes has an observatory that is open weekends during camping season to show visitors the wonders of the night sky.

The campground is not huge, but it is well maintained, and includes modern bathrooms with showers.
