Su Ada Mezzaluna is one of the many branches of the Italian Restaurant brand Mezzaluna
; which is actually one of the first Italian brands in Istanbul. Mezzaluna Nisantasi, which used to be on Abdi İpekci (but is now closed) was the first and most original branch. There was once a time, when Istanbulites dressed up into their heels and reserved tables to dine at Mezzaluna Nisantasi. Times have changed and at a certain time Mezzaluna Nisantasi had become an upscale Mc D. of the Italian kitchen in Istanbul -in the sense that it had multiple branches around the city and in malls.
With Nisantasi branch closed, one of the most promising branches that kindle the spirit of the Mezzaluna legend is perhaps the Su Ada Mezzaluna. Su Ada itself is a promising place anyway: a nice 360 degree view of the canal and the shores, nice and soft music, dressed up waiters and dressed up elite people. Su Ada
is in the middle of Bosphorus and only a few minutes away from the Kurucesme Park by boat. It is thus an experience to arrive and to dine here.
The menu is typical of Mezzaluna: a variety of antipasti
(entries) followed by a range of salad dishes -including the French Salad Nisuaz and the classic Ceaser Salad, a huge variety of pasta and rissotto, meat and fish dishes; last but not least pizzas.
