Negril is known as something of an escape from the corporate-hotel atmosphere of MoBay and other tourist enclaves on the island, an ethic that is also reflected in its shopping. Many small boutiques and markets predominate here, and the Negril Crafts Market is the largest of the bunch. Individual vendors sell woodcarvings, clothing, jewelry and other items from wooden beach huts in an area located just north of Plaza de Negril in Negril Village. Expect to haggle a bit over price, and bring Jamaican dollars with you.
