The Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center has been a well-kept Jerusalem secret for a number of years. With 150 simple, clean rooms and a few suites, many overlooking the Old City, the Center run by the Pontifical Institute caters primarily to Christian tourists and pilgrims. But its location, just across the street from New Gate, and the beautifully preserved 19th century building has turned the site into a desirable Jerusalem destination.In March 2011, a rooftop wine bar and restaurant opened on the top floor of the building. Along with a fabulous selection of wines and cheeses from all over the world, visitors can enjoy coffee and dessert on the terrace or in the sun-filled conservatory.
