Address:

Kauai,

NileGuide Expert tip:

Enjoy at least some of it by bike.

Description:

The Koloa Heritage Trail is a 10 mile long path that is enjoyable via bike, foot, or car, that winds 5 million years back in the past through 14 different sites. The heritage trail winds all along the coast and slightly inland, lending insight into the area's rich past. Although the South Side is famous for it's nearly constant sunshine and lovely long beaches, it may actually have the deepest historical significance of the island, and the path reveals it all to you.

Along the path you will visit Spouting Horn park, Prince Kuhio Birthplace and Park, Hanaka`ape Bay and Koloa Landing, Moir Gardens, Kihahouna Heiau, Poipu Beach Park, Keoneloa Bay, Makawehi and Pa`a Dunes, Pu`uwanawana Volcanic Cone, Hapa Road, Koloa Jodo Mission, Sugar Monument, Yamamoto Store and Koloa Hotel, and the Koloa Missionary Church.
