The Chateau Lake Louise is part of the Fairmont family of resorts. These are among the finest properties in Canada, including the Hotel Frontenac in Quebec City and the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff. The Chateau Lake Louise may be at the very best location of all the Fairmont properties in Canada, though, being right on the banks of the world-famous Lake Louise, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Chateau has a reputation for being environmentally conscious and managing itself with the intention of responsible tourism. There is so much to do around Lake Louise. Visitors can hike, canoe, fish, bike, and ride horseback. The famous Lake Louise Ski Resort is just across the Trans-Canada Highway from the Chateau. It's not more than a ten minute drive away. But, closer to the lake, there is dog sledding, cross-country skiing, skating, and snowmobiling. These Fairmont properties in Banff are among the most expensive accommodations in the National Park, but they are also the leaders in comfort and luxury.
