Downtown Lima
Description:
A one day trip to Lima important historical sites, good restaurants and a view of the city from the hill and then the coast. Fiinally ending at an excellent restaurant and a night cap. A full day with lots of sights.

Day 1 - Lima
Start the visit at the Plaza de Armas. Arrive there by 9 am by taxi from hotel. Have a look at Plaza and then see the Palacio Arzobispal and Palacio Municipal from the outside. Its architecture is whats important.Walk to San Francisco church (to the right, facing the Government house) Visit the church and the catacombs. Walk 1 block closer to the river Rimac and see the old walls of the city and the old Pizarro monument.Walk back towards the plaza via the old train station ,Desamparados, have a look. Go by the plaza and visit Santo Domingo church and convent but also stop by the Old post office. Be back at the Plaza at noon to see the change of guards.Take the bus to San Francisco hill for nice city view. If still on time, visit the Inquisition museum on the way to Chinatown. Have lunch at the Wa Lok chifa. Take a taxi back to the hotel but visit the Coast road (Costa Verde) and go all the way to Chorrillos area and Barranco. Also visit the parque del Amor for a nice ocean view. Visit the museum in Barranco and afterwards go to San Isidro area for a visit to the Olive woods and the Huaca Huallamarca. Make reservations for Astrid and Gaston early in the day for a good dinner. Afterwards, and if still not tired, go to Larcomar for a night cap at the Bartini.
