Tips and reviews

Here's what Trippy members say about London Eye:

"Not sure what you mean by 'toddlers'? It's a term we use in the UK for 1-3 year-olds so I'm going to assume you mean the same. London is vast so, again, I'm going to assume you mean central London....and *really* heavy rain. All toddlers love running about, splashing in puddles etc so, if you pack the right clothes, all of London's many parks and playgrounds are almost as good on rainy days as they are on dry ones. :-) Start by looking at this list of ideas from the official tourist info site: /"  See More

"I think walking around the tourist sights at night is nice, the London Eye is lit up, the Houses of Parliament are lit up, there's a Christmas market at South Bank, St Pauls is lit up."  See More

"Stephanie, Given that you've never been to London before, here are my suggestions. Additionally, you're coming from the East Coast, so you'll probably be arriving in London in mid-to-early morning -- if you can manage to push through that first day without succumbing to jet lag, you'll feel great the rest of your trip. As an aside, this list is mostly cultivated from my own loves in London -- it's by no means definitive nor necessarily the most popular. Just places I love! :) Day 1 (Day of Arrival) Grab breakfast at Regency Cafe, a classic place for English Breakfast Wander around near Buckingham Palace, cross Westminster Bridge, and enjoy a coffee (and unique view) from 2 Love Tea & Coffee House (!"  See More

"London Eye and Southbank Centre/Southbank near House Of Parliament."  See More

"Staci, welcome to the right place! I am a huge HP fan as well! Let's see if I can cover all the ones I can remember... If you're looking for the official stuff: The studio tour in Leavesden is obviously a requirement. Expensive, time-consuming to get there, but SO worth it. Platform 9 3/4 in Kings Cross Station is a must-do. There's also the The Harry Potter Shop literally right next door, so you can pop in for official merchandise. I know there are a fair number of walking tours, but I did the one from London Walks (!"  See More

"Katya, I love London! Great choice. In fact, we love all of the UK -- there is a ton to see outside London also. We lived in the UK for two years. So, the most important thing to remember is - there are two season's in England: Winter (rain) and July. You have to go prepared that it could rain a lot and then be pleasantly surprised when you have sunny days. Rain in England is all part of the experience. My favorite spring month in the UK is April. There is typically less rainfall, the temperature is on the rise, and things are in bloom more than normal. They observe good friday/Easter - which is 18-21 April next year. There are two bank holidays in May on the 5th and 26th, so you will want to miss those weekends if you want to avoid crowds, or plan around those weekends if you want to be part of what might be happening -- for example, Covent Garden Market will have a lot going on those weekends and can be very interesting, but at the same time theatre tickets will be hard to get. You may also want to avoid the heavy tourist crowds of the summer months: J-J-A. There are some great sites that will show you weather data in the UK - like !"  See More

"The few last times I went there I didn't pay for any kind of activities and I enjoyed my stays even more than when I spent my time in waiting lines for "must sees" like Tower Of London, London Eye, ."  See More
