Ghyslain is set back from Market Street, in the carriage house of the street-front building.

Description:

Chef Ghyslain Maurais moved from Quebec, Canada to Union City, Indiana to open Ghyslain Chocolatier, eventually expanding to Richmond and Zionsville, Indiana. In April 2011, Louisville became home to the fourth Ghyslain enterprise, Ghyslain on Market, offering the chef's line of hand-painted chocolates, as well as French pastries and tarts that look more like Derby hats than desserts. The store also serves breakfast and lunch and has some of the best croissants in Louisville. Lunch is a bit pricey ($10-12 for a panini with a side dish), but the wait staff is friendly and helpful, and the crème brulee is done right.
