Part of the multi-week Derby Festival, the Great BalloonFest consists of five events over several days – the Balloon Tour (a 30-minute preview race), the Balloon Glimmer (a smaller version of the Glow, where the balloons fire up, but don't take off – the Glow is set to music), the Rush-Hour Race, the Glow and finally, the Great Balloon Race. The Friday and Saturday morning races allow a larger number of people to see the races, one of favorite Derby Festival events. Event locations change and depend on the weather (in 2010, the Great Balloon Tour and Rush Hour Race were cancelled) – watch website for updates.
