Description:

The main attraction at the Falls of the Ohio are the 390-million-year-old Devonian fossil beds. Walk down to the river to see them. Be sure to hydrate in the summer, as the fossil beds can be up to 25 degrees hotter than the temperature on the river bank. An interpretive center presents the geological and cultural history of the area, with details on the various fossils found in the beds. Gardens attract interesting insects, and if walking around the river bed isn't enough, you can get more exercise, flora and fauna on the short walking trail (30 minutes to an hour). The park is open seven days a week, from 7 AM to 11 PM. Parking is $2 if you're not visiting the interpretive center. Admission to the center is $5 for adults 19 and older, and $2 for ages 3-18. Children under two get in free.
