Description:

Located in the historic area of Old Lyon - on the tourist brimming Rue Saint Jean – Saint James Irish Pub is the place to go for a taste of the emerald isles in the heart of Lyon. The Victorian interior of this friendly pub fits well with the old cobbled streets of Saint Jean, so you won't ruin an Old Lyon experience by stopping off here for a drink. You can even order a glass of local wine if you're worried you might lose the French touch, or you can choose from a fine selection of Irish whiskeys, international and Irish draught beers and stouts, including (of course) Guinness by the half or full pint.

Saint James' opens late morning or early afternoon and stays open until 3am over the weekend. The clientele is generally a cheery mix of local students, tourists, expats and travelling business people. The bar staff speak English and French (French spoken with an Irish accent is a real attraction of the bar), so Saint James' is a great place to go if you're getting tired of your French not being understood by the locals.

If you get bored of coffee and croissant for breakfast while you're in Lyon, you can get a full Irish breakfast from Saint James' Irish Pub that will prepare you well for a day of discovery in the Old Town. In true Irish style, breakfast includes a plate crowded with sausage, beans, tomato, egg, mushrooms, black pudding and toast, all for 9€ or 11€ including coffee and juice.
