Just a short ride out from the city takes you to one of Antioquia's most scenic and well-preserved colonial towns, Santa Fe de Antioquia. Ornate cobblestone streets greet the visitor right from the off and museums with plenty of religious paraphernalia seem to mark each corner. There are plenty of sprawling colonial mansions to visit and while the town may be full of day-trippers during weekends and public holidays, at night these folk return home and you get the town to yourself. For those staying longer, there are opportunities to enjoy the surrounding countryside on horseback and plenty of hiking options.
