Founded in 1859, the Melbourne Football Club is said to be the oldest sporting club in the world and the oldest Australian Football club in the country. Their home ground is the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, arguably the greatest sports stadium in the world, and they have a large following in the Jewish community. While they have not won a premiership since 1964, the current side if very young and talented and considered a real threat to play finals football in 2011. It is thought that their premiership window could open in 3-4 years if they can maintain their players, as richer clubs are after them.
