If you go to Big Red for a late lunch and stay for a few hours you will see this restaurant transform itself into a popular club for 25 – 35 year olds that work in Polanco.  Food is very good, affordable and varied. Their shrimp tacos and fish quesadillas are excellent and Mexican beer is only $1.50.

Contrary to other local clubs, Big Red is easy to get into and get a table. You can order something to eat or just have a drink and if you are there for the long haul, you can order a bottle and mixers and have a good time with a group of friends while listening to recorded contemporary hits, mostly rock.

Big Red is practically full by 9pm so get there earlier if you want a good table or later if you want to be fashionably late and arrive when the energy level is at it's highest. If you are staying in the Polanco area you can walk from your hotel but I recommend taking a cab to and from, it will run no more than $3.
