The W Hotel Mexico City is not staid, that's for sure. Especially when compared to the some hotels on the same Polanco block, the Nikko and Intercontinental. The W chain presents an intentionally trendy image and its DF outpost lives up to it. Diverse amenities include a indoor koi pond and, in the AWAY® Spa, a temezcal – the traditional Aztec spin on a steam room. The 453-square foot Wonderful Room is the W's basic accommodation, cleanly decorated in cherry red, ebony, gray, and white; duvets cover feather-top mattresses. Bathrooms feature rainforest showers, lemon and sage-scented bath products, and a hammock for lounging next to the window. One reason to select the W is to use whatever pull a guest has to get a prime seat in the W Bar, one of the capital's most fashionable. It's a five-minute walk to the Chapultepec Park Zoo or Botanical Garden.
