This chain of coffee shops all over Mexico has been in business for over 30 years and they consistently offer good value for your money. The food is tasty and portions are well served and menu items are available all day long meaning you can order breakfast in the evening. Coffee is brewed regularly so it's always fresh and the waitresses will gladly pour as much as you want.

Food is mostly Mexican and you can order a very decent plate of enchiladas or chicken tacos for around $7. They always have breakfast and lunch specials that include a complete meal for a lower price.

The waitresses (it's rare to find a male server at Vips) have usually worked at the same location for years and they have their regulars, which you will pick out easily because they chat them up until the manager reminds them that they have other clients to wait on.

In Mexico City there must be at least 50 different locations and it does not matter which one you go to, they have the same menu, same prices and same consistent quality.  Breakfast is popular for business people and lunch for office workers from nearby buildings and evenings are fairly quiet except on weekends when locals stop by for a bite after a movie or a family outing.
