NileGuide Expert tip:

In the winter months, join Heber Valley Road for their "Tube N'Train." Board the train in Heber for a scenic ride to Soldier Hollow, home of the 2002 Winter Olympic Nordic ski events, for some tubing on the area's 1000-foot groomed tubing hill.

Description:

Heber Valley Railroad offers a scenic tour of the backside of the Wasatch Range in historic train cars pulled by a steam-powered locomotive. Departing about 30 miles from Salt Lake City, the railroad runs through Provo Canyon between Provo and Heber, past Sundance Resort, Bridal Veil Falls, Deer Creek Reservoir, and majestic pine and aspen-covered mountains rising dramatically on both sides of the canyon. The Railroad offers special events, including the popular Polar Express tour during the holiday season. Kids of all ages can take the train through the winter wonderland of the Wasatch and get a visit from Santa.
