Nature enthusiasts enjoy visiting Wehr Nature Center, located in Whitnall Park, not only for exploring various habitats but also as a quiet respite from city living.On any given day, one can stroll on any of the paths and encounter colorful birds flying about and deer grazing peacefully amongst the long grass. There are prairies, woodlands, wetlands, and even a lake to explore on the more than 200 acres.
Stop in the visitor center and explore their living animal collection inside. The center hosts special events throughout the year. Check out their website for more information. Free admission though parking is $3 per car.
