Hunters Canyon

NileGuide Expert Says:

As beautiful as any Moab canyon, its under-the-radar status means fewer crowds

Address:

Moab,

Description:

Hunters Canyon has greenery, a natural arch, and a very unique petroglyph to see along the way. Four miles round trip, this is an easy hike that appeals to families and those wishing to experience the area without an undue amount of exertion. One petroglyph panel on the way features Moab's famous "birthing rock" scene, in which an ancient woman is depicted bringing new life into the world. The unnamed arch can be seen on your right about half a mile into the hike.

Get there: Take Kane Creek Road (by the McDonald's) out of Moab for about 7.5 miles to the trailhead. You'll see the parking area on your left.
