National Velvet, The Big Bounce, The Candidate, The Parent Trap (not the one starring Lindsay Lohan) and Mutiny on the Bounty. What do all these iconic films have in common? Some their most famous scenes were shot right in and around Monterey.

Monterey Movie Tours movie buffs the chance to experience where the almost 200 films shot in Monterey, Carmel, Pebble Beach, and Pacific Grove were made. In the years that followed the first movie set ever built in Monterey—way back in 1897— movies of every genre have captured landmarks like Colton Hall, Cannery Row, and 17 Mile Drive on film. The hit classic Turner and Hooch was set in the fictitious town of "Cypress Grove," or, as local call it, Pacific Grove.

Stars like Marilyn Monroe and Clint Eastwood once glammed up Monterey's streets, though the average visitor wouldn't know it just by looking at most of the historic and iconic sights there. In three hours, film buffs will see Monterey like they've never seen it before. The tours, conducted on a multi-media Theater-on-Wheels, take guests to the exact locals where films were shot and plays clips so that guests can watch the action play out before their eyes.
